About Me
Welcome! My name is Jessica Menasco and I am excited to spend another year as part of the RMS family! I was born and raised in Spring, TX and graduated from the University of Houston - Downtown with a Bachelor of Arts. I have the following teacher certifications: EC-6 Generalist, 7-12 English Language Arts and Reading, and EC-12 English as a Second Language Supplemental.
As a middle school student here in Spring ISD, I found middle school to be a difficult stage to go through. Kind teachers and campus leaders became a bright spot in my days. They were mentors, caregivers, and became family over the span of many years to come. I believe that middle school is often a difficult time during a child's life when they need to be encouraged and loved. Through the kindness others showed to me, I grew a heart for serving kids. It is my personal goal to make kids smile everyday, to love them, and to be a constant for them. I believe that students learn best when they are able to learn and grow with hands-on experiences that relate to the world around them. Students need the opportunity to collaborate, to develop critical thinking skills, and to grow their ideas through peer discussion. I love to teach our scholars and I look forward to each day I am entrusted with them.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, taking photographs, watching baseball, and writing.
College and Career Readiness is of the highest importance to me as an educator because my students deserve to be knowledgeable about the variety of choices at their fingertips. It is my goal to instill in the hearts of my scholars that their dreams are worth fighting for.
