2025-2026 begins my 34th year of teaching. Since 1998, I have been the chemistry teacher at SHS. I graduated from Wingate University with a degree in biology, chemistry, and education. I began my career in 1991 at Chesterfield High School in Chesterfield, South Carolina. We moved to the Black Hills of South Dakota in 1996. I am a member of the National Science Teachers Association, the American Association of Chemistry Teachers, and the Association of American Educators. I was the 2017 District and Region 7 Teacher of the Year and a finalist for state teacher of the year and the 2018 South Dakota Teacher of Excellence Awardee.
I enjoy reading, science, cooking, weightlifting, and spending time with family and friends.

“Do not think that love in order to be genuine has to be extraordinary. What we need is to love without getting tired. Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.”
How much one actually achieves depends largely on: desire, faith, persistent effort, and ability
But if you are lacking in the first three factors, your ability will not balance out the lack.
So concentrate on the first three and the results will amaze you.
~Norman Vincent Peal~
"Every person needs one person to make them do what they know they can."
