I was born and raised in Belle Fourche, South Dakota and graduated from BFHS in 2001. I attended Black Hills State University, graduating in 2005 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education w/ 5-8 Middle Level and endorsements in Middle School Language Arts, Math, and Social Studies.
After getting married in the summer of 2005, my husband, Justin, and I moved to Sioux Falls where I began substituting in various elementary and middle schools within and around the city. This awesome opportunity led me to my first teaching job as an 8th grade math and language arts teacher in Dell Rapids, SD beginning in the fall of 2005. While there, I also served as the middle school cheerleading coach.
My husband's career change took us to Gillette, WY in the winter of 2008. I was hired there as a 4th grade teacher at Hillcrest Elementary where I spent the next six years of my teaching career.
While in Gillette, our three wonderful children were born: Brooklyn in 2010, Braydon in 2011, and Kamden in 2014. We moved to Spearfish in the summer of 2015. Our awesome kiddos keep us quite busy camping in the summers and attending gymnastics and wrestling meets, football, basketball, and soccer games during the school year. We love every second of it!
I am looking forward to my 14th year teaching 4th grade and my 8th year at Creekside Elementary!
