Our Pastor

Pastor Naumann has been serving St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Brookfield, IL, since August 2023.

Prior to serving at St. Paul's, in 2013 he was ordained and installed as assistant pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Oakmont, PA. From 2015-2021 Edward served as Theological Educator to South Asia, in the Office of International Mission for the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, and was deployed to Colombo, Sri Lanka. After returning from Sri Lanka, Edward and his family moved back to Oakmont, PA, where he founded South Asia Lutheran Mission, a nonprofit that provides confessional Lutheran teaching and educational resources. 

Pastor Naumann studied for the ministry at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne. He holds degrees in Classics from the University of Edinburgh (MA, 2005) and in Greek and Latin from The Catholic University of America (MA, 2010, PhD, 2015), where he wrote his dissertation on Augustine the Preacher and the Judgment of God.

He was born in Bellshill, Scotland, and grew up in South Ruislip, England. He is married to Monica, a nurse practitioner. Together they have seven children: Martin, William, Charles, Robert, Emily, Alfred and Theresa.
