September Welcome Letter

Hello New First Grade Students!

My name is Ms. Gorey and I will be your first grade teacher for the 2025-2026 school year at Alpine Elementary School, in room 32. I hope you are enjoying your summer and are as excited as I am to begin school on Tuesday, September 2nd.  This summer I have been busy hiking, swimming, reading, visiting the beach, and working at Sparta Middle School!   I love teaching first grade here at Alpine Elementary School and I know you will love it here too!

Please refer to the Supply List on my website to help you get ready for September.  

We are going to have an exciting year together, full of learning and, yes, some fun too! Marvelous adventures will be taken by reading many books, problem solving, writing stories, experimenting, and creating! My philosophy of education begins with a warm, safe environment with structure and compassion. We are all learning and growing as unique individuals at our own pace and our classroom allows for all of us to reach our highest potential both as learners and friends.

If you would like to take a peek at our classroom prior to the first day of school, you are invited to Alpine's Open House on Tuesday, August 26th.  Don't forget to take your name tag so you can wear it on the first day of school!

Please remember to pack a healthy snack and water bottle each day.  I can't wait to meet you!
