I was born in New Jersey and raised in a small town in Hunterdon County. I went to the local elementary school and the regional high school. I have wonderful memories of attending both of these schools. My teachers were my heroes- which is why I am a teacher today! After graduating from Voorhees High School, I attended Trenton State College. While there, I earned a Bachelor's Degree in English.
A year later, I graduated from SUNY New Paltz with a degree in Secondary English Education. That same year, I traveled out west and taught English and Writing for three years in Santa Fe, NM at Santa Fe High School.
In 1999, I returned to New Jersey and taught Writing for two years in Basking Ridge at William Annin Middle School. While there, I obtained my elementary teaching license.
In 2000, I bought a home in Sparta, NJ, and become an English teacher at the Middle School a year later. Shortly thereafter, I obtained a Masters's degree in Education and another Masters's degree in Administration and Curriculum.
In 2013, I decided to give the lower grades a try and became a fourth-grade teacher at Helen Morgan School. It was the best decision!
I currently live in Sparta and enjoy hiking, reading, knitting, and exploring. I am also the proud mother of two sons who are currently attending college: the younger at the University of West Virginia and the older at Virginia Tech.
