Bharti Nandwani

I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Mumbai since June 2018. I completed my PhD in economics under the supervision of Dr. Nishant Chadha from Shiv Nadar University in 2018.

My research interests lie in the areas of political economy and economics of education. My work in the political economy area so far has explored the extent of local community participation amongst Scheduled Tribes (STs) and effectiveness of welfare policies introduced for STs. Within economics of education field, I have explored the implications of different funding sources and management of schools for education provision in India.

I teach econometrics and political economy at the graduate level.
