My name is Amy Nine and I am the school social worker at Westridge Middle School. I am looking forward to my second year at Westridge Middle School. Westridge is a great place and I'm happy to be a part of Team Westridge!

I am here to help students be more successful at school. That may look like assisting a student during a rough time, helping with peer conflict, developing interventions to foster student success, intervening during crises, and/or helping wherever I’m needed. I look forward to meeting families and helping parents connect with the school and the many valuable community resources we have through Westridge and in our community.

Social workers work in a variety of settings. In summary, the goals of a social worker in a school setting are as follows:

  • Use strengths-based approach that improves the quality of life of families and impacts the education success of students.
  • —Assist and support families in setting and attaining goals aimed at self-sufficiency and stability.
  • —Provide and connect families to comprehensive services in the school, neighborhood, and community.

Be sure to check out my website for links to many resources in the area and follow me on Twitter! I often post upcoming opportunities in our community and news from school.

Please contact me anytime if you need assistance. If I can't help you, I'll do my best to find someone who can. #whateverittakes
