Greetings, my name is Amy Nine, and I am a school social worker at Shawnee Mission South. While I have been in the district since 2006, I feel fortunate to be joining such a fantastic community at South.
My goal is to support student academic success by removing any barriers that hinder their progress. I accomplish this through interventions that foster student success, crisis intervention, and helping students navigate difficult situations. Additionally, I strive to facilitate communication between parents and the school, connecting them to invaluable community resources.
Social workers work in diverse settings, and in a school setting, our goals are as follows:
Utilize a strengths-based approach that enhances the quality of life for families and positively influences students' educational success.
Assist and support families in achieving self-sufficiency and stability by setting and achieving their goals.
Provide and connect families to comprehensive services available within the school, neighborhood, and community.
Feel free to visit my website for numerous community resources and follow me on X for upcoming opportunities and school news. If you have any questions or require assistance, please contact me at 913-993-7536 or email me at amynine@smsd.org.
Sincerely,
Amy Nine, LMSW
