Behavior System
This year we are utilizing a behavior clip chart. There are seven spaces; Super Student, Way to Go, Excellent Effort, Ready To Learn, Make Better Choices, Teacher'r Choice, and Parent Contact. Every day, your child will start on green (Ready to Learn). Throughout the day, your child will have the opportunity to move up by answering questions, paying attention, or making good choices. This could be something as simple as being the only student to volunteer to read or walking quietly in the hallway. Every time your child gets to super student, they will get a sticker to put on their chart. Once they have filled up their row of 25 stickers, they will received a reward. Every time a student is asked to move up, they are given lots of verbal praise. This encourages everyone else to work hard to move up as well.
Just like positive choices will cause your child to move up, poor choices will cause them to move their clip down. If they move down once, they are encouraged to think about their actions and how they can make better choices. If they move down to orange, they may be given a consequences such as sitting for 5 minutes of recess. If they get down to red, I will be contacting parents to discuss their behavior.
