Algebra 1
Welcome to Algebra 1 with Ms. O'Donnell!
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!
I'm your teacher, Ms. O'Donnell. I'm looking forward to working with and getting to know you this school year!
This course is aligned with the Ohio Learning Standards for Mathematics. Students will be assessed on topics listed on the linked Algebra 1 Concept Checklist. This is a required course according to Ohio's New High School Graduation Requirements. The textbook for this course is Big Ideas Math Algebra 1 Bridges. Assignments will be given daily to assess student progress. These assignments may include but are not limited to Big Ideas Dynamic Classroom, IXL.com, DeltaMath.com, worksheets, and class projects and discussions. Students will log in to these websites using Clever.
This school year student progress and growth will be tracked using MAP testing and IXL diagnostic testing. Students will take the MAP test three times this school year: fall, winter, and spring. Students will update their IXL diagnostic at least 4 times this school year to track their own growth and progress. These assessments are used to identify and target individual learning gaps. Students will then take a required Ohio State Test in the spring to demonstrate what they have learned in Algebra 1 this school year.
For more information about this course please reference the syllabus. For any additional questions please reach out to Ms. O by email at st_modonnell@smfcsd.org.
