  • Elena Baluyut Reinisch (B.S., Saint Louis University, 2014; Ph.D., University of Wisconsin - Madison; recipient of NSF Graduate Research Fellowship). During the 2013-2014 academic year, Ms. Baluyut analyzed deep earthquakes in the northwest Pacific.

  • Louisa Barama (B.S., Oglethorpe University; M.S., Saint Louis University, 2014; Ph.D. student at Georgia Tech). Thesis title: Outer rise seismicity of the subducting Nazca Plate: Plate stress distribution, fault orientation, and plate hydration.

  • Nick Belecanech (B.S., Saint Louis University, 2020). During the summer of 2019, Mr. Belecanech studied Colombian earthquakes.

  • Ying Chang (B.S., University of Science and Technology, China; M.S., China Earthquake Administration; Ph.D., Saint Louis University, 2017). Dissertation title: Slab geometry and stress state of the southwestern Colombia subduction zone.

  • Amanda Hughes (B.S., Washington and Lee University; Ph.D., Harvard University). During the summer of 2006, as part of the Carnegie internship program, Dr. Hughes analyzed deep earthquakes in Tonga.

  • Siiri Kokkinen (B.S., Saint Louis University). During the 2012-2013 academic year, Ms. Kokkinen analyzed deep earthquakes in the northwest Pacific.

  • Meredith Langstaff (B.S., University of Chicago; Ph.D., M.B.A., Harvard University; recipient of NSF Graduate Research Fellowship). During the summer of 2007, as part of the Carnegie internship program, Dr. Langstaff analyzed intermediate-depth earthquakes in Middle America.

  • Kristen Lisac (B.S., Saint Louis University). During the summer of 2012, Ms. Lisac analyzed deep earthquakes in the northwest Pacific.

  • Junjie Liu (B.S., Missouri University of Science and Technology; M.S., Saint Louis University, 2019). Thesis title: Relative Relocation of Deep Double Earthquake Subevents.

  • Michael Martinez (B.S., Saint Louis University, 2021). During the summer of 2021, Mr. Martinez studied intermediate-depth earthquakes beneath Japan.

  • Alexis McAdams (B.S., Augustana College). During the summer of 2013, as part of the IRIS internship program, Ms. McAdams studied the relationship between megathrust earthquakes and intraslab stresses.

  • Junxi Miao (B.S., Missouri University of Science and Technology; M.S. Saint Louis University, 2016). Ms. Miao analyzed intermediate-depth earthquakes beneath Japan.

  • Tim Osburg (B.S., Eastern Illinois University; M.S., Saint Louis University, 2012). Thesis title: Determination of fault plane orientations from rupture directivity of intermediate and deep earthquakes in the northeastern Japan subduction zone.

  • Anna Pfohl (B.S., Pacific Lutheran University; Ph.D. student at Colorado State University). During the summer of 2012, as part of the IRIS internship program, Ms. Pfohl searched for tectonic tremor on the North Anatolian Fault, Turkey.

  • Lillian Soto-Cordero (B.S., University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez; M.S., University of California, Santa Cruz; Ph.D., Lehigh University; post-doctoral associate, Saint Louis University, 2019). Dr. Soto-Cordero studied Colombian earthquakes.

  • Wanying Wang (B.S., Missouri University of Science and Technology; M.S., Saint Louis University, 2016; Ph.D., University of Texas, Austin). Thesis title: Intraslab stress regimes before and after the 2011 Tohoku earthquake.

  • Adrea Williams (B.S., Saint Louis University, 2022; Ph.D. student at Washington University in St Louis). Senior project: Relocation and Analysis of Unexpectedly Deep Earthquakes ~80 km West of Colombia in the Panama Basin.
