‘Sarangee’ is a journey through history of Sri Lankan music and singing evolution process. This performance dedicates to events and people who took their entire lives to build a nation’s musical and singing aspects through various stages: commencing from influences of the Nruthi Nadagam styles then through eras of the Gramaphone, radio and movies, cassette culture, and now in to a technologically advanced era of today.
A second performance, a ballet, ‘Mang Mama Novay’ presents the importance of preserving one’s identity and emphasises on the protection of one’s uniqueness. This is a good message to the young ones specially living away from mother land who are vulnerable to various culture conflicting influences.
