COURSE DESCRIPTION
Spanish II is an audio-visual course designed for students on their second academic year of college-prep Spanish. In this course students will continue to develop all four language skills, (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) with an emphasis in grammatical concepts and in-depth vocabulary at an accelerated pace. The goal is to increase fluency and comprehension of the Spanish language. Instruction will include appropriate readings and videos, as well as insights into cultures and traditions of the Spanish speaking countries.
EXPECTATIONS
· This is a prep-college class.
· All MBHS rules apply to my class.
· Don’t cheat/copy in my class; there will be consequences such as getting an F on that assignment, and loosing my trust.
· Don’t eat in class.
· Respect the teacher, yourself, and your classmates. If you lack respect of others, you will be asked to leave the class.
· Bring your materials, such as books, notebooks, binders, pens, pencils, homework, handouts, completed assigned work, etc.
· If you are absent, you are responsible for contacting me or a classmate to get the material and understand what we did in class, within a week of your absence.
· If you need to talk to me, do so after class, during lunch time, or make an appointment with me.
· I expect you to participate, be engaged in the class, as well as to do the work in class and at home. Be ready to speak Spanish!
· Participation and engagement in class are worth 35%, Evaluations (quizzes, tests, projects) are worth 35%, and Assignments (homework and in-class work) are worth 30%.
· Cell phones and electronic devices are not permitted unless we are using them for a class activity.
· Be the best you can!
