Materials

Follow the link provided to begin an Alpha program for your small group. You will then sign up and follow the prompts. They will likely suggest you follow the teen alpha series but I would advise that you run the alpha film series. It is amazingly well done and is very accessible for high school students.

Bible Study on the Humanity of Jesus

Sometimes Jesus can seem difficult to relate to for high school students. This bible study was created to exemplify how Jesus has lived through every single experience that we have, and illustrates the parts of Jesus' life that we often forget, i.e. Suffering! This bible study highlights different areas of Jesus life that have to do with suffering and with being human.

Book studies

We have some groups that are exploring different books. This is helpful for students who are already practicing daily prayer so after praying together in the group they are able to dive a little deeper into a particular area of the faith through spiritual reading.

A few examples of what have been used are below

    • A story of a soul by St. Therese of Lisieux

    • Captivating by Staci Eldredge

    • Hinds Feet in High Places by Hannah Hurnard

    • Introduction to the Devout Life by Francis DeSales

    • The One Thing is Three by Fr. Michael Gaitley

    • Wild at Heart by John Eldredge

Discipleship Group Bible Study

This is a 7 week study that was created for this program. It is a perfect intro to praying with scripture. Each week there is a worship song to listen to followed by a scripture verse and then a few questions to reflect on and then discuss.

Seasonal Bible Studies

There are certain Bible studies that are catered to Lent and/ or Advent that are in the works. Stay tuned for a young women's bible study as well!

This is a 14 part video series that is similar to Alpha in that it is simple and straightforward but this is spoken through a specifically Catholic context. It is entirely focused on the love of God and the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives. The program gets its name from what the ancient celts would call the Holy Spirit - the "Wild Goose". This is a great resource to help students come to the know the power of the Holy Spirit.

The USCCB has the daily readings as well as the Sunday Gospel on their website. If you want to chose scripture for your meetings that follow the liturgical calendar then please follow the link below to find those resources.
