Biography: Mr. Gálvez has been teaching for the past twenty years in California, Texas and Utah. He has taught all K-12 students and worked for the Salt Lake City School District for seventeen years as a teacher and coordinator of the bilingual program. He joined Juan Diego Catholic High School in the fall of 2004. Since then, he has been teaching all levels of high school Spanish and has served as department chair for the last nine years . He is very passionate about teaching the Spanish language, and specially his AP Spanish class, for which he prepares and makes sure that all his students are properly ready for the AP Spanish exam in May of each year.

Biography: Ms. Aho joined the Juan Diego Faculty in 2014 after teaching Spanish at the University of Utah for 8 years. Born and raised in Minnesota, Ms. Aho has a BA from BYU and a Masters in Spanish Literature from the University of Utah. Learning Spanish has been a fascinating adventure for her with travel to Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Ecuador and Chile. Sharing those adventures with JD students has been a rewarding and joyful experience.

Biography: Ms. Killpack graduated from Syracuse University with her M.A.in French/Francophone Studies, and has been teaching French ever since. In August of 2017 she moved to Salt Lake City from Chicago to work at Juan Diego Catholic High School. At Juan Diego, she teaches all levels of French (I-IV) plus sections of Spanish I. She has taught world language at the kindergarten, high school and university level and loves being able to see the language growth in all her students. She believes that world language education opens up not only a student's mind, but their cultural awareness and self-confidence. She has traveled through most of Europe and shares her experiences with her students in the hope of encouraging them to also go abroad.
