I teach all levels of mathematics: GE (Math 10A Math in Art and Music), beginning major courses (Math 30 Calculus I, Math/CS 42 Discrete Math), upper level major courses (Math 115 Modern Geometry and Transformations, Math 126 Theory of Numbers), and graduate courses (Math 221A/B Higher Algebra, Math 226 Theory of Numbers). In all classes, I use the following guiding principles: (1) positive energy and enthusiasm, (2) being available and approachable to students, (3) clarity and engagement.
I have collected many ideas to properly motivate and implement lesson plans in a way that is interesting, effective, and interactive. I love to learn and share what I have learned in a creative and personable fashion. This passion gives me a high level of enthusiasm while my experience ensures that my energy is well spent. I genuinely want my students to enjoy their classroom experience and learn problem solving skills rather than simply just memorizing some seemingly unconnected assortment of facts.
