Students always have the right to earn PRePP credits by reading and answering questions about psychological research studies instead of participating in them. You’ll have the choice of reading one of a few published psychological articles and reflecting on it by responding to critical thinking questions (e.g., “how might the authors’ conclusions be applied to social policy?”).
Each assignment can be completed for 30 or 60 minutes of PRePP credit.
You still need a PRePP account to earn credit this way, so please create or update yours before proceeding.
First, select a reading. The available readings are linked below. Feel free to browse before selecting one.
If you are doing more than one of these assignments, please choose a different reading each time. You can't get credit for the same reading more than once.
After selecting a reading, download and print the Instructions and Cover Sheet. Please prepare a separate copy of the Cover Sheet for each assignment that you submit.
Carefully follow the instructions on the form. To earn course credit, your assignment must meet the following requirements.
Your response(s) should thoughtfully address the question(s).
Your response(s) should be legibly handwritten (not typed).
Your response(s) should be accompanied by a completed Cover Sheet (stapled on top).
For the Spring 2024 semester, alternative equitable assignments should be submitted before 5 PM on the last day of classes (Friday, December 12th). Please slide them under Prof. McCarty's office door in Lafavour E-450G (Level 4 of the Library building).
Visit the PRePP website for a summary of your earned, pending, and required credits.
It may take up to two weeks for your alternative equitable assignment credits to be posted. If you're concerned about a missing credit, please email the PRePP coordinator (megan.mccarty@simmons.edu).
