About Me

My journey in mathematics began with reading Martin Gardner's books in middle school. My middle school teacher, Mr. Bahadorifar, was a passionate motivator whose teaching style and care for students were exemplary.

I graduated with a B.S. in Mathematics in 1999 from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, and a Ph.D. in Mathematics in 2005 from Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, NY. I joined Siena College in 2011 after visiting positions at the University of Oregon (Eugene, OR) and Trinity College (Hartford, CT).

Parviz Shahriari (1926-2012) translated and authored many books, making him probably the most influential author of mathematics in Iran. Many Iranian mathematicians owe their love of mathematics to him.
