The Collective

"What began as an idea has evolved not only into a club, but a close knit community of students, staff members and community members, all of whom see this project as a way to fill a real need both here at Whitman and in the local community that surrounds our school.

The ultimate goal of our project is to produce an album in both digital and hard copy form while creating a musical outlet for students to grow in their appreciation and practice of songwriting and sound recording. We began with the idea that there needs to be a voice and venue for the abundance of students not participating in organized music programs such as orchestra, concert band and chorus. We knew that this population of students was under served but we didn’t realize the turnout for our meetings would be so overwhelming." -Mr. Monti, Co-Advisor of The Collective
