I grew up in Gresham on a strawberry farm. From a young age, I have always been involved in sports: soccer, basketball, football, swimming, water polo, and baseball. Baseball was my main sport. I went to college on a baseball scholarship in an elementary education program, only to get injured in the preseason. I was unable to continue attending school and playing baseball. I worked as a shop foreman repairing large industrial pumps and motors for many years - some so big I could stand in them! I also spent seven years in the military, many of those as an instructor, and deployed to various locations. I have always loved soccer and have been a licensed coach and referee for many years. I met my wife Amanda in 1999, and we have two amazing kids and a sweet dog, Kalice. Some of my favorite hobbies include coaching soccer, woodworking, and snowboarding. Since joining Sherwood Charter School (SCS), I have found an amazing community of students, friends, and family. I hope that you find that at SCS too.
