Sports intramurals are available to all middle school students. No registration is necessary, students simply show up each day and join in. Each 40 minute session resembles a Physical Education class with safety rules and some strategy being taught, but without a the large focus on sport specific skills and drills. Intramurals are essentially organized "pick up" games.
Each Intramural unit is conducted for approximately 6 weeks, are held every weekday except Tuesday, and run from 8 - 8:40 am each morning.
Students that attend Koda Gym intramurals should be dropped off each morning at the KODA Middle School main entrance. Students that attend Green Gym and Aquatics Center intramurals should be dropped off at the GOWANA Middle School main entrance. If before 8:00 am, students will usually be held in each schools cafeteria until a Physical Education teacher arrives to bring each group to the designated activity location.
ALL intramural unit start dates are announced on the morning announcements during homeroom the week before a new unit begins (please note that start/end dates can and do change due to gymnasium availability – check with a P.E. teacher for specific start dates as the school year progresses).
