STUDENT CLASSIFICATION
In order to be classified for the various grade levels in high school, students must have earned the following minimum number of academic credits.
FRESHMAN = 0 CREDITS
SOPHOMORES = 6 CREDITS
JUNIORS = 12 CREDITS
SENIORS = 18 CREDITS
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Twenty-four (24) credits are required for graduation from Shawnee High School. The following credits must be earned in order to be eligible for graduation:
4 Credits of English 4 Credits of Physical Education
3 Credits of Math 2 Credits of Science 1 Credit of U.S. History
1 Credit of Personal Finance 1 Credit of Vocational/Art/Music/Foreign Language
. 5 Credit of Government .5 Credit of Civics
.5 Credit of Digital Literacy .5 Credit of Computer Concepts .5 Credit of Health
.25 Credit of Driver Education
The remaining credits will be achieved through electives
Effective with the 2019-2020 school year, juniors and seniors are required to complete 8 hours of community service each of these two years as a graduation requirement. The required form is on Mrs. Marks's main page or see her for a copy.
Beginning with the 2020-2021 school year, seniors are required to complete the FAFSA or a FAFSA waiver in order to graduate. See Mrs. Marks's main page for FAFSA information.
