Behavior Plan

In First Grade we do not use a clip chart. I follow the program of Conscious Discipline. This means that we act much like a family in our classroom. Every student has a job and most importantly, every person contributes to making sure our classroom is safe. We make promises every morning to keep the classroom a safe place and make personal commitments to work to do better for ourselves and each other daily. 

I do pass out "desk pet dollars" where students can "buy" treats, have pet play dates with their friends, and also food or accessories for their class pets. It also teaches about money and helps us find a purpose in Math.

I also have a secret student that is chosen daily and kept a secret until the end of the day and a secret reward puzzle for use when the whole class receives a compliment. When the secret student does awesome the entire day they will receive a prize. When the secret puzzle is filled the whole class receives a reward as well.
