Since 1990, the Wilson High School art program has grown over two and one-half times its size. In 1995 there was one full-time and one part-time art teacher, but for the past 18 years there have been two full-time art teachers.

Various elective courses are offered at Wilson High School, such as drawing, painting, abstraction, crafts, ceramics, and sculpture. During the 2002-03 school year, AP art studio and AP art history courses were added to the curriculum. Students graduating from Wilson High School are well prepared to enter art programs at any college, university or art school. For anyone not seeking a post-secondary degree in an art-related field, there is the personal satisfaction that one receives from participating in creative activities.Artwork created by Wilson High School students can be found adorning the walls of the high school. They also participate in various local art exhibits such as the scholarship-exhibit at the Wyomissing Institute of Art, various Woman's Clubs art competitions, the Kids' Show at Atonement Church, and the annual Berks County High School Exhibit at the Goggle Works located in Reading, Pa. Wilson High School students have also had their work featured at Art Plus Gallery in West Reading.

It is evident that the art teachers and their students are kept very busy during the school year. The enthusiasm and dedication of everyone has made the art program at Wilson High School to be the fine caliber it is today!
