SCOHS Computer System Requirements

Hardware:

• • A laptop is recommended for all programs. (While cell phones and tablets work for some services we provide, you will still need a laptop for some activities such as Proctored Exams).

  • CPU: Quad Core Processor or better.

  • Ram: 8GB 

  • Recommended Equipment:

    • External Webcam (built in webcams work, however an external USB webcam is recommended as some of the academic activities will require you to capture your physical environment such as taking tests, online from your home.)

Software:

• • Microsoft Windows 11 or Mac OS 14 or later.

  • Google Chrome 

  • A PDF viewing application (Most browsers support PDF viewing, you can also use the free version of Adobe Reader)

  • NOTE: Sentara College of Health Sciences uses D2L Brightspace. Students will need to maintain personal computer systems to comply with Brightspace technical requirements. You may use the System Check tool at https://community.desire2learn.com/d2l/systemCheck to verify your computer’s compatibility with Brightspace.
