Attention Eighth Grade Religions Students and Parents/Guardians for the 2025-26 School Year:   I have the privilege of helping to prepare your child for Confirmation this year. Confirmation is now done by the individual Parishes and Churches where you attend. I will provide the classroom instruction and testing that is required for Confirmation. I will be coordinating the Confirmation Project with students that involves a Saint Report on the Saint that each student has chosen for Confirmation. I will also be responsible for the Pastor Letter that each student needs to write to his/her Pastor stating that he/she is prepared and ready to be confirmed. Students are also going to be asked to select a sponsor for Confirmation. This individual needs to be 16 years of age or older and must have already been confirmed. Parents are not permitted to be a sponsor. Older siblings, grandparents, Godparents, and other relatives are permitted to be sponsors along with close friends of the family. Students will be asked to conduct a written interview with their sponsors. I will keep you posted on any information that is provided to us about Confirmation as it becomes available. It is important  for you to contact your Parishes and Churches to determine what else you will need to ensure that your child is confirmed at the appropriate time.  Your child will be required to do a minimum of "20 hours" of community service throughout the school year as part of the requirements for Confirmation. I will give your child a log sheet on the first day of Religion Class and will keep extras in my classroom at all times.  Mrs. Christine Miller is our Youth Minister and will be overseeing all aspects of the Confirmation preparation process.
