¡Hola! My name is Sarah Dean, and I am thrilled to be teaching in the community where I grew up. As a proud graduate of Torrey Pines High School, my roots in Carmel Valley run deep.
My journey with the Spanish language has taken me across the globe. I earned my BA from Sonoma State and my MA from Cal State San Marcos, but my most formative years were spent immersed in the cultures of Madrid, Spain, and Santiago, Chile, where I studied at La Universidad Complutense and La Universidad Católica.
I’ve taught everyone from university students to high schoolers since 2009, but I found my true calling here at CVMS in 2012. While I’ve enjoyed every level, I truly shine the brightest in middle school—it’s where the most fun happens and where I do my best work!
Before I had my own children, I spent my time trekking through Europe, South America, and India. These days, my adventures are a bit more domestic: you can usually find me playing with Lego and monster trucks with my two sons. Go Bobcats!
