This is the largest library in the world and contains millions of books, recordings, photographs, and newspaper articles. Search by keyword or by collection. Make sure you narrow your topics.

National Archives

As the nation's "record keeper," this site has links to thousands of primary sources. Click here for collections for some of this year's more popular History Day topics.

Digital Vaults

This is the National Archives' interactive site where you can access photos, documents, and other popular media. Search various U.S. historical topics and themes.

The Smithsonian

A total of 9.6 million of the museum's 138 million artifacts can be accessed online. Included in the collection are portraits, letters, and books. Make sure you take advantage of the search features as you narrow your search.

World Digital Library

Provides primary sources representing different countries and cultures.
