What is Social Work?

The school social worker will integrate intervention efforts that emphasize prevention and early intervention. They will act as the behavioral lead for the school by facilitating and implementing Tier I, Tier II and Tier III interventions that seek to improve both individual and system factors contributing to academic success for all students. The social worker will collaboratively work with parents, teachers, administrators to integrate interventions that target multiple risk factors in home, school and community settings. The social worker will practice data-informed decision making and intervention fidelity.
