What can your librarian do for you?
As your school's library media specialist there is so much I can do for you! If you are ever in need of assistance, do not hesitate to reach out to me. You can do so in person, via email or use one the google forms located on the drop-down menu under the teacher resource tab on this websites. I am always happy to help you in any way I can!
Here is a list of some of the ways I can help you!
Pull materials for a lesson
Assist in planning research/project based inquiry(PBI)
Help co-teach research - Topics I can help cover include:
Finding good sources both in print and digital
Digital source evaluation (author, bias, validity etc)
Source Citation/Bibliography creation
Book Talks! I love to give book talks!
Traditional Book talks
I can pull books based on a theme if you like.
Book trailers
I will quickly talk about each book and show a short online book trailer. This is great for new books and Rebeca Caudill nominees!
Having students create their own book trailers is a great project too! Ask me for more details!
Book Tastings
Each student gets a different book and page for notes. They are given a few minutes to peruse the book mark if they would like to read it and why. When time is up, they select a new book from the pile. At the end of the tasting students will add books they are interested in reading to a list they can keep for future reference.
