MEET A COMPOSER!

This is John Williams! He is an American composer, conductor, and pianist. He served in the Air Force where he got to conduct and arrange music for the Air Force band. When he left the Air Force, he went to Juilliard School of Music in New York City. It is one of the most famous music schools in the world! After he completed his education, he moved to Los Angeles to work as a film studio orchestrator. His big break was when he got to compose the theme to the tv series "Lost in Space." He has written some of the best music for tv and movies. If you have ever heard of or watched Jurassic Park, Harry Potter, E.T., Jaws, or Home Alone (there's plenty more!), then you have heard his music! Did you know that his music for Star Wars was chosen by the American Film Institute as the greatest film score of all time! He has won 5 Academy Awards and earned 50 Academy Award nominations. He is the second most nominated person...after Walt Disney! He is still composing for movies today! Here are a few of his most famous works:
