Program Description

Do you like money? Accounting is the language of money! In this program you will learn how to complete the Accounting Cycle for your own business. This program will prepare you to work as accounting technicians and you will have the option to earn six Running Start college credit! You can find jobs in Accounting in every business that exists; both in the USA and abroad!

  • Analyze and record a business transaction.

  • Explain the accounting cycle.

  • Calculate and record interest, and determine maturity dates, on notes receivable

  • Compute and record depreciation using a variety of depreciation methods

  • Compute and record amortization expense on intangible assets

  • Explain and record the sale and trade-in of capital assets

  • Explain partnership formations and how to account for them

  • Explain corporate formations and how to account for them

  • Explain and account for cash dividends, stock dividends, stock splits and treasury stock transactions
