Re:  Summer Assignments

Congratulations on your decision to take AP Biology in the fall!  As you know this class is designed to prepare you for the AP Biology exam, which is given by the College Board each May.  This course will be taught on a college level, pace and expectations, however, we are constrained by the schedule and facility of a high school.  One of the difficulties will be in the amount of contact time that we have together, so one way we will be addressing this challenge will be for you to do some of the work this summer.

I have chosen the unit on ecology for our summer work.  (I have chosen these chapters, as I feel they will require the least amount of instruction for you to understand the concepts.)

Ecology Unit (text pdf posted on our google classroom)

52-Ecology and the Biosphere  (upload photos of your notes July 15) - 25 points

53-Population Ecology (upload photos of your notes August 1) - 25 points

54-Community Ecology (upload photos of your notes August 15) - 25 points

55-Ecosystems and Restoration Ecology  (upload photos of your notes Aug 31) - 25 points

You are to take detailed notes on these 4 chapters, and meet the submission deadline for full credit. During the week of September 7th you will take your first test on these readings. (100 points)
