Welcome to our school library!

Our cozy library is a place for our students, teachers and community to read, explore, find information and learn about themselves, their world, and their interests.

Kindergarten students may check out one book, and grades 1 through 5 students may check out two books. Students check out more books as needed for special projects! Students may also check out books as needed, not having to wait until their next library day to exchange books.

In-Person Circulation Procedures

When the students visit the library, they clean their hands upon entering the room. They check out their own books, with supervision. When the books are returned, they are held for at least 1 day before being returned to the shelves where they can be selected again. Students may place a hold on a book that is currently checked out so that they may be the next in line to check out that book. Students use Destiny to search for specific library books, to browse topics of interest, and to place holds.

NH Book AWARDS!

At KES, students will have the opportunity to read and/or listen to books nominated for NH awards then vote for their favorite.

Kindergarten through second grade participate in the Ladybug Award, then vote in December. Here is the site you can visit for more information about the Ladybug Award.

Grades 4 and 5 participate in the Great Stone Face Award, then vote in April. These books are recommended by NH librarians. Here is a Smore newsletter explaining the Great Stone Face award at KES.
