1. To complete this task, you will first create an Animal Behavior Inventory (a list of all observed behaviors). Observe your animal by webcam for 10-15 minutes. Record all the behaviors exhibited by the animal. Record the name of the animal, date, location and times when the behaviors were recorded. Create a code for each behavior that you will use to sample behaviors on a data sheet. (See the sample Animal Behavior Inventory) You may need to conduct several observation sessions to get a complete inventory of all behaviors in the species' repertoire.
2. Next, sample animal behaviors while observing your species of choice via a webcam. Follow the directions at the top of the document titled "Animal Behavior Data Sheet" linked below.
3. Create a histogram (bar graph) of your data. Graph the total time the animal exhibited each behavior.
4. Write a summary of the behaviors observed by the animal.
