10 Things to know to help your student succeed in science:
1) Science Notebooks
Students will maintain a spiral notebook for Science. It is expected that each student carry the notebook EVERY SCIENCE CLASS day. When students enter the class they will copy down the table of contents with assignment title and date. Check your student’s spiral Science Notebook. Look for new entries in the Table of Contents and work on the pages listed.
2) Student Planners
Students should be writing down and maintaining a list of assignments in their Student Planners. Students must carry their planners EVERYDAY.
3) Exit Slips This assessments helps formulate where each student is with their understanding and helps to identify misconceptions. It is normal for students to struggle with exit slips at first as the build their understanding.

5) Google Classroom
Visit Mrs. Allison Science Class on Google Classroom to get more information about what is happening in Mrs. Allison’s Class. Your child will use their own login to access the Google Classroom
6) HOMEWORK
Students should plug in and charge their computers each night.
Homework is not specifically assigned in science. Students are expected to get work done in class. Assignments that were not finished in class must be completed for homework.
7) Absences, Make-ups, and Tutoring
After an absence, have your child make up work promptly. Labs and Tests must be made up by appointment. Tutoring is available by appointment on Tuesday after school 2:15-3:15pm, except on
8) Grade and Progress Checks
Grades can be accessed through PowerSchool. You can use your child’s school log in to see your child’s grades. Grades are updated weekly. It is recommended that you set a day of the week that you review all grades with your child.
9) Communication
If you have questions, concerns, or just want information to help your child, please e-mail Mrs. Allison at oallison@sandi.net. It is the best form of communication and I can usually get back to you with in a day.
10) Extra Credit
Extra Credit is RARE and may not be used as a substitute for incomplete or missing work. Extra Credit is not a fix for not completing work. It is expected that students complete every assignment on-time.
