FUN STUFF TAKING PLACE IN MR. SARTORI'S ROOM!!!
4th graders and high schoolers working together.
Thanks to the Redies Foundation several fourth grade classes from Pleasant Ridge elementary school were able to visit Saline High School for a few hours. The students used their knowledge of electricity to create an electrical circuit that served as a "Lunch Box Alarm".
The Students read the story Dear Mr. Henshaw, and found the main character had trouble with a lunch box thief always stealing food from his lunch. The high school electronic students were happy to lend a helping hand so the Pleasant Ridge students could create an alarm that would sound off when the lunch box was open.
This is the third such project, in the past students built and wired light houses to combine Michigan history and electricity. And, students were able to assemble products manufactured by the high school students to better understand mass production, the assembly line, and Henry Ford's contribution to the process.
See a great video of the 4th grade electronics project HERE!!!
