The goal of the Elementary Media class is to create independent, enthusiastic, life-long learners and foster the joy of reading. We aim to create responsible digital citizens, develop creative problem solving skills through coding and Makerspace, and provide an introduction to a variety of technology tools that can be used in the classroom to showcase knowledge.
Students in Y5's through 3rd grade come to the Media Center for 75 minutes each week for literature lessons, book check-out and technology lessons. With the exception of kindergarten, all students have the 75 minutes in one block. Kindergarten is split into two 37 minute blocks with Innovation Lab, that on two different days. One day is for literature and book check out and the second for technology.
