Friday, August 5 - Flame Invitational - Lodi Lake, Lodi           All entered

Directions:  Lodi Lake is located at 1101 W. Turner Road, Lodi.  From St. Mary’s go north on El Dorado, left on Morada Lane (dead ends), right onto Lower Sac Rd, right on Turner Road, Lodi Lake will be on your left. 

Course:  Flat course runs mostly on blacktop with some grass and levee trail.  Varsity will run a loop on the wilderness trail.

Race Times: Early dismissal 12:15 p.m.  If you need a ride, please meet in front of the big gym.  1 van will leave the school at 12:45 p.m. Parents if you can help transport runners, please meet in front of the big gym @ 12:30 p.m. Varsity boys and girls do not need to leave early if they have their own transportation.  Arrive at the race no later than 45 minutes before your race time.   Parking is limited in the park, you'll have to park residential if you arrive too late. The race will start at the north end of the lake.  Look for our team canopy.

Saturday, August 26, 2023 - Oakmont Invitational, Johnson-Springview Park,  5480 5th St., Rocklin, CA- Limited entries

Directions: Hwy 99 to Sacramento 44 miles, Continue onto Elvas Fwy 0.3 mi, Continue onto I-80BL E 8.1 mi, Use the left 3 lanes to merge onto I-80 E toward Reno10.5 mi, Take exit 105B for Taylor Road toward Pacific Street 0.3 mi, Continue on Taylor Rd to your destination in Rocklin

6 min (2.2 mi)

If you need a ride to the race a van will leave school at 5:45 a.m.

Course:  2.5 miles of mostly grass and dirt trails, rolling hills

Saturday, September 9 Joss Ruff Invitational – Willow Hills course – Folsom H.S. - Limited entries

Directions: +-1 hr. 15 mins Follow CA-99 N to Grant Line Rd in Elk Grove. Take Prairie City Rd to Folsom H.S.

If you need a ride 1 van will leave the school at 7:30 a.m.

Course: mostly dirt trails with undulating hills  

Race Times: 

9:40 a.m. Varsity Girls - 5k (3.1 miles)

10:15 a.m. Varsity boys - 5k

11:05 a.m. F/S Girls - 2 miles

11:30 a.m. F/S boys - 2 miles

Awards:

Top 20 finishers in each race receive a medal

1st place team trophy

Parking Fee: $5

Important race information:

The finish mat has sensors.  Run 10 feet past the last mat.  If you stop and walk before the mat you will be physically removed.

Uniform warning! Removal of any part of the team uniform while in the area of competition is illegal.  This is your warning.  If the incident occurs, you will be disqualified from the competition.  Also if you are in a different race uniform than your teammates you can be disqualified.  Wear your team jersey with black shorts.  lf you wear compression shorts, they must all be the same color.


Saturday, September 16 - BRET HARTE FROGTOWN INVITATIONAL – Frogtown Fairgrounds, Angels Camp – Limited Entries

Directions: +-l hr. 10 minutes Follow 99-S to CA-4 E, go through the town of Angels Camp to the Fairgrounds.  One van will leave the parking lot at 6:45 a.m.  Our team canopy can be located on the grassy area at the bottom of the hill, head towards the stage.

Course: Rolling hills, dirt trail course with 3 main (rolling) hills, black top surface the last half mile to the finish in front of the rodeo grounds. Sub-sections championship course.

Awards: Team Awards to top team in each division.  Individual 3 medals, next 17 award pins. Plaque/Trophy to winning team in each division. 1st place team will get a Frogtown stuff sack.

Saturday, Sept. 30 Tom Laythe Invitational (limited), Willows Hills Course, Folsom H.S. - limited entries

Directions:  Hwy. 50 east to Sacramento, exit on Prairie City Road.  North on Prairie City Road proceed approx. 0.7 miles to Iron Point Road and turn right.  1 van leaving SM at 7 a.m.

Course:  Section Championship course:  Semi-hard packed dirt trails and gravel roads.

Race Times: 

9:15 a.m.  – FSG small schools 2.11 miles

9:50 a.m. – FSB small schools 2.11 miles

noon  – VG small 3.04 miles

12:35 p.m. – VB 3.04 miles

Awards: F/S races top 25 individual medals; Top 2 teams

Varsity races:  top 30 individuals; Top 2 teams

Saturday, Oct. 7– 43nd ASICS CLOVIS INVITATIONAL – WOODWARD PARK – FRESNO – limited entries

This race is a precursor to the STATE Meet and runs on the STATE Meet course.  Top 7 boys & top girl invited.  This is a team overnighter, food and lodging will be provided.

Directions: Follow 99-S to Avenue 12 in Madera, take 41-S to Friant Rd. exit, turn left on Audubon Dr., park entrance is on your right.

Course: State meet championship course, mostly undulating dirt trails w/ grass finish.

Race Time:


Awards: Asics backpack to individual champion.  Team plaque and medals to 7 members of the top 3 teams.  Medals to top 30 individuals.

Team information:  Flyer information on Schoology.  On Friday, Oct. 6, we will leave SM at 1:40 p.m. and arrive at Woodward Park around 4 - 4:15 p.m.  You will jog survey the course as a team and discuss race tactics while I pick up your race bibs. After you survey we’ll go to our Airbnb.  You can shower, and be prepared for dinner at 6 p.m. BTW, you do not have to travel with the team, but I do want you to stay with the team. Dinner will be ordered from Heirloom restaurant and we will dine at the Airbnb.  


Saturday, Oct. 21 Flat Sac Invitational (limited entries)

4:00 p.m. – Varsity Girls (3 miles)

4:30 p.m. – Varsity Boys (3 miles)

Awards:  Individual medals and team medals; Perpetual Championship trophy to winning varsity team. The top 7 finishers will be the All-League Team (varsity).


Saturday, November 4 - Sub-sections – Frogtown Fairgrounds – Angels Camp - qualifiers

Directions: +-l hr. 10 minutes Follow 99-S to CA-4 E, go through the town of Angels Camp to the Fairgrounds.

If you need a ride to the race, 1 van will leave the school at 6:45 a.m.

Course: Hilly, dirt trail course with a black top surface for the last half mile to the finish.  Our team's race duty is to supervise the posting of results. (Will need 2-3 volunteers)  I will need to schedule Del Campo, Gustine, Sac, Waterford, and West Campus Wood to work on the posting of results.

9:30 a.m.  Sophomore boys (2 miles)

Awards: Sub-section medals to top 20 runners in varsity races. In all other races Div. IV and V will compete for 20 medals.

Sections qualifiers: Top 10 varsity teams/10 individuals not on the top 10 teams, all other divisions top six teams/top 10 individuals not on the top 6 teams.

Important race information:

The finish mat has sensors.  Run 10 feet past the last mat.  If you stop and walk before the mat you will be physically removed.  

Uniform warning! Race uniforms must be the same.  Please wear plain black shorts.  Any logo over 2.5" is illegal.  Do not tie a knot in your jersey. Removal of any part of the team uniform while in the area of competition is illegal.  This is your warning.  If the incident occurs, you will be disqualified from the competition.

Race interference (pushing, cutting someone off, etc) and running alongside runners are illegal.  A runner can be disqualified.


Saturday, September 11 - Sections Championship – Willow Hills course – Folsom H.S. - qualifier for State Meet

Directions: +-1 hr. 15 mins Follow CA-99 N to Grant Line Rd in Elk Grove. Take Prairie City Rd to Folsom H.S.

Course: mostly trails with undulating hills  Our team's duty is the Freeway Loop (At bottom of first hill and at top of row of trees)Varsity Boys and Girls seventh place teams

Sierra Invitational , Sierra College, Rocklin (limited)

Directions: 99 to I-80 East to Rocklin Road/Sierra College Blvd.  Race starts near the football stadium (1 hr. 10 min drive)

Race Times: Race by grade, all 2 miles.  You can compare your time to your teammate's time in other divisions!  (see Schoology XC page for entries)

Lagoon Valley Classic – Lagoon Valley Park,  Vacaville – Limited entries

Directions: +-1 hr. 20 mins. (to allow for traffic) Follow I-5 to CA 12 W to I 80 E in Fairfield to Lagoon Valley Rd. exit.  Turn right at top of the ramp. Proceed approximately ½ mile to the service entrance. Turn left and follow the signs to the parking area.

If you need a ride to the race, 1 van will leave the SM parking lot at 6:00 a.m. It would be great if a parent can help with transportation if needed.

Course: Spectator-friendly course, you can see almost 80% of the race from the start/finish area.  Wide groomed dirt trails with 2 aggressive hills, Big Momma and Little Sister.

Kim Duyst Twilight Invitational, River Oaks Golf Course

3441 Golf Links Rd. Ceres, CA – Limited Entries    

 Directions: 99 South to Exit 223 for Hatch Road.  Keep left at the fork to continue towards E. Hatch Road.  turn left on E Hatch Rd. (pass by Wendy's), turn left onto Golf Links Dr., turn right to River Oaks Golf Course

Course: Fast, flat. The course will be 95% grass with a small portion on dirt.
