With the Nut policy being enforced at school, many parents have asked if we know of bakeries in the area that are nut free, and that can safely be used for classroom celebrations. Listed below are 3 bakeries that can be used:

  • Blackers Bake Shop-543 Commonwealth Ave, Newton (617) 332-2008

  • Cake Inc -1628 Massachusetts Ave, Lexington (781) 674-2257

  • Jennifer Lee's Gourmet Bakery-Boston Public Market-100 Hanover St, Boston (978) 414-5180

Other Bakeries not strictly nut free, but accomodating include:

  • Treat Cupcake Bar-1450 Highland Ave, Needham (781) 444-4995. On Wednesdays they close down their lines, clean their equipment and make nut-free, gluten free, egg free, dairy free cupcakes. They have them available in the freezer during the other days of the week.

  • Hazel's Bakery-459 Great Plain Ave, Needham. (781) 444-4953. While they are not a nut free facility, if you request nut free items they will accomodate and ensure the safety of their goods. FYI: Tenacre uses this bakery for school functions with the children.

  • Please make sure to bring the treats in their original packaging or boxes! Also Blacker's and Cake have Vegan options (Egg Free) if you ask. All of Jennifer Lee's baked goods are Vegan. So remember if you need EGG FREE-ask for VEGAN!
