Course Description

This course is designed to provide a variety of physical, mental and social activities. The program introduces students to a wide variety of activities in rhythm, games, team sports, and lifetime activities. The activities are designed to carry over into wise use of leisure pursuits in school and during the student's lifetime. Emphasis is placed on getting along with each other as students grow physically, socially and emotionally.

Students should wear soft soled shoes and have a change of clothes (shorts or sweats without zipper or buttons, t-shirt or sweat shirt) for each Physical Education class.

Since state law requires physical education, all students at South Hamilton are required to participate, unless excused by a doctor. School policy states that a student must have 2 credits in physical education to graduate. A semester of Physical Education is a .50 credit.
