About Our Class

Our job this year is to help you succeed in class, be fully prepared for high school, and provide strategies that will be beneficial to you in the long run, including your time in college. We have very high expectations and promise to do our best to help and encourage you this year.

In Reading, we will focus on comprehension and critical reading skills through a variety of literary genres using novels, short stories, songs, and poetry. There will be an increase in Nonfictional text through the use of articles, memoirs, and newspapers with a strong emphasis on text based evidence to support your answers.

Writing this year will consist of a variety of types including; narrative, argumentative, expository, and research through literary analysis. In addition, Writer's Notebooks will be a part of our weekly writing.

It is our hope that we can work together to improve your academic skills and increase your academic success! Remember to always try your best and believe in yourself!
