This is a standardized exam that is graded by a select group of educators throughout the country.  Exams are scored from 1-5, 5 being the highest score.

A student's exam score is his/her property. Students can choose to forward their scores to the college of their choosing to be evaluated for college credit.  Many colleges will accept a score of 3 or higher as a college course equivalent, meaning that students could automatically earn college credit by virtue of his/her AP score. An updated list of all AP college credit policies can be found here.  Just type in the college and the field will populate with the different score/college credit options.

As usual, students' work will be scored by our network of college faculty and AP teachers, and will be reported on a 1–5 scale. We anticipate releasing scores as close to the usual July timeframe as possible.

We're confident that the vast majority of higher ed institutions will award college credit as they have in the past. We've spoken with hundreds of institutions across the country that support our solution for this year's AP Exams.
