Health Services Home Page

 Welcome to Health Services

Our school Health Office staff form partnerships with parents and students and act as a link to other school and community resources to make the school year successful.

We encourage students to make healthy life choices and offer a variety of up to date and reliable health information as needed. Our goal is to help ensure that students are healthy and ready to learn!

We are responsible for monitoring state required immunizations, completing required annual vision and hearing screenings (for grades pre-k, kinder, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 12 and on an as needed basis), continuous monitoring of the overall health and safety of the school community as an extension of our state public health system, sending outside referrals as needed, management of routine and emergency medications, management of care for students with chronic health conditions, daily first aid and emergency care.

It is important to note, per state guidelines and for the safety of all students, any type of medication in school requires appropriate permissions and planning. Contact one of our nurses to discuss. (Forms are available to view/print in the tabs to the left. )

Winter Gear for Elementary Students

In the chilly days of winter it is so important that students come to school prepared for the elements. Getting fresh air and exercise is a key part of the their day but we want them to enjoy it and stay safe. So please be sure that your student has gloves or mittens, a hat, a warm coat, and snow pants. If your student does not have appropriate gear, in some cases, we have supplies for them to borrow, but that is not a guarantee as we rely on donations. Therefore, it is possible that they may be asked to stay indoors or on the blacktop rather than out in the snow.

*If you have any gently used snow boots, gloves, mittens, coats, or snow pants, please consider donating to the school health office, thank you!

802 Smiles, Another Dental Day! Yay!

Through the 802 Smiles program, our dental hygienist, Michael Messina, RDH, visited each of our school health offices in December and completed over 60 dental cleanings including sealants and varnish as appropriate, for students who were fully registered for the program.  He is excited to be able to return in May for another visit to each building.

Registration information will be sent out via your principal's Friday newsletter soon. If you would like your child to be seen, please complete and return the permission forms as soon as possible.

*Please note, there is not cost to any family for these services but if your child is covered by Dr.Dinsaur, please include your child's policy number on the registration paperwork because it does help with our funding for this program. Reports about the visit will be sent home to parents/guardians.
