MRUUSD Health Office Information

We provide health care, health information and emotional support during your student's school year. Each student is unique and we have the opportunity to get to know your teen during their years at MRUHS.

The school nurses hope to form a partnership with parents and students to help make these middle and high school years successful. We encourage them to make healthy life choices and offer a variety of up to date and reliable health information and skills such as stress/anger management, medication management, substance abuse referral and support, immunization monitoring, first aid / emergency care, counseling and referrals, health education, and vision/ hearing/ BP Screening.

The Nurses’ Office is available throughout the day to serve the needs of our students, faculty and staff. Students requiring this service must ask their classroom teachers for permission to visit the Nurses’ Office, where a Registered Nurse will assess the students' needs. Any student who believes he/she needs to leave school due to an illness must go to the Nurses’ Office first.

Sometimes parents/guardians are unsure whether to keep their student home, or send them to school. Here are some helpful guidelines that are suggested:

  • Fever, over 100 degrees
  • Diarrhea or vomiting within the past 24 hours
  • Persistent sore throat, with fever or enlarged tonsils/glands
  • Undetermined rash
