Arrival: Students can enter through the front door or the doors by the cafeteria at 7:00 a.m. After the first few days of school students will sit in the hallway reading a book until the teacher invites them into the classroom at 7:30.
Parents are encouraged to give the last hugs and kisses in the main hallway and then let the students walk to the kindergarten hallway on their own. This will help all the teachers to get started with the day on time.
Students should be in the classroom by 7:40 when the bell rings or they will be counted Tardy. If a child has perfect attendance but more than 2 tardies at the end of the nine weeks they will not receive a perfect attendance award. Please make sure your child is on time every day.
Dismissal:
Walk Up- Students will come out the front doors and line up in the kindergarten area. Parents must sign out their child with the teacher before taking them from the line.
Car Rider- Students will sit in the car rider line waiting for their parents to pull up in the car rider line. Parents are to stay in their car at this area to pick up their child.
Bus/daycare bus- A teacher will walk the bus and daycare bus riders to their appropriate transportation.
YMCA- A teacher will walk all the YMCA students down to the cafeteria at dismissal.
Snacks:
Since kindergarten lunch times are quite early we ask that each student bring a healthy snack daily to eat in the afternoon. Some good examples are applesauce, crackers, fruit etc.
Important Things to Remember:
- Label everything with your child's name.
- Put an extra set of clothes in your child's backpack in case they have a bathroom accident. (The nurse does not have extra clothes)
- Lunch costs $2.80. Snacks are offered in the lunch line, so if you do not want your child buying them you will need to make a note about it on your child's lunch account.
