About the Teacher

Welcome to my website. I look forward to working with students to help them explore the exciting field of health care. My educational experience includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University and a Master of Business Administration specializing in Healthcare Administration. The majority of my professional experience comes from a 35-year career with the outstanding Baylor Health Care System in Dallas, Texas. I have clinical experience based in critical care and nursing administration.

In the 1980s, I helped establish Baylor’s network of community hospitals which today includes a network of 27 hospitals and services throughout North Texas, including Austin.  As part of that experience, I supervised every clinical hospital department in the hospitals.

My later assignments included developing and administering an innovative network of interdisciplinary primary care physician offices for persons 65 and above, Baylor Senior Health Network.  In my last 3 years, I worked as a liaison between the Baptist General Convention of Texas and Baylor focusing on disaster relief and international medical missions.   In 2016, I completed an EMT training program and am a licensed EMT.

This is my 14th  year teaching at McNeil.  It is also my 55th year in clinical practice. I am excited to share my many experiences as a nurse and administrator with students. I am passionate about health care and welcome the opportunity to help students explore opportunities for their future.
