Practicum in Health Science

I  am very excited to have your student in Practicum in Health Science. The purpose of the course is to provide knowledge and skills for certification or license in an allied health career. Students develop advanced clinical skills necessary for employment in the healthcare industry. The course is taught with clinical internships.

During the fall semester, students will complete coursework and clinical rotations to prepare them to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification exam. The students are scheduled to begin their Walgreens Internships in mid-October and continue until before finals week in December.

The second semester will allow students to choose their internship site for the clinical rotations from February to mid-March.

In April, students will take the certification exam to become Certified Pharmacy Technicians.

We are excited to have hospital clinical partners making opportunities available to our students beginning in 23-24.  Students have the option of selecting clinical rotations in outpatient areas.
