About My Campus and Me...
Chisholm Trail MS
I am excited to say that this is my 23 year teaching! I have been at Chisholm Trail MS for 8 years! Chisholm Trail is a SPECIAL place to be! While I am currently an Emergent Bilingual Specialist , I have taught all grade levels. Middle school is by far my favorite because of the unpredictable nature of every day! Middle school keeps me on my toes!
I support my campus in coaching Cougar Cheer for my 7th year! GOOOO COUGS!
I support my campus in utilizing AVID Reading and study strategies on a daily basis and commit to continuing my own education.
I support my campus by sponsoring the student-driven Minecraft Club!
Professional Beliefs
I believe...
all students should be held to high expectations
all students can and will be successful!
all students should have access to an adult at school that they can rely on!
in equity of all stakeholders in our community and help to identify and provide pathways for all students and families on campus..
Education and Training
I graduated from University of Texas of the Permian Basin in 2000 with a BA in History and minor in English. I found that a small school met my needs the best for success!
I specialize in working with ESL students with a focus on newcomers to the country and reading intervention for all students.
I continue my education and reflective teaching in an ongoing process. I am constantly working to better my craft, reflect on my experiences, and find ways to improve my contribution to our campus and our students.
I work with district committees in Curriculum Writing and Culturally Responsive Curriculum and Teaching.
I am the the ESL/LPAC Dept. Chair.
About Me
At home, I have 2 fur babies! Lucy Lu and Jake!
I am the caretaker of my family at home and encourage all to reach that Family Life- Work Life balance! Being a teacher is a 24 hour a day job in my brain and heart, but being present for my family and life is equally important!
