Creativity Potpourri - Arts & Icons presentation, Thursday, December 4, 2014

Inspired from very first workshop. I was reminded that even TAG kids need to be stretched beyond their comfort zone. A North Texas professor reminded us of the importance of vocabulary development, and the impact it has on reading and writing. My second session reminded me about all the technology options available and gave me plenty of planning ideas. Looks like I'll be doing something with Twitter!

On the second day, I started at a hands-on math workshop. And I have many fun activities I can put in place on Monday. I can't wait to see how much the kids enjoy it! It continued like that for three very full days!

I heard many wonderful quotes throughout the three days:

"My brain is like a battery that never goes low." Student quote in one of the winning videos with the theme Gifted 24/7

"There are a lot of gifted children that haven't been unwrapped yet." Donna Knoell

"I was an undercover gifted student my senior year." Scott Barry Kaufman, author of Ungifted: Intelligence Redefined, which I can't wait to read; he's the funniest psychologist I've ever heard speak!
